What are we doing about the Coronavirus?

Updated as of Monday, March 16, 2020

West Family,

After many conversations with our leadership, other church pastors, and local officials we made the decision to make the switch to ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICES and cancel all on-campus activities for the time being.  This was not an easy decision to make as we highly value the physical gathering of the saints for corporate worship.  Our desire is to be known as a people that not only love Jesus, but that also value and love our neighbor.  Our hope is that by joining the many other churches and organizations that are closing that we can help keep the Coronavirus from spreading.

Here are a few things I want you to know:

  1. Join us for worship online this Sunday at 10am on our Facebook or Website. We have had such a fantastic response from the church on both venues. It is sad to be physically apart, but a relief to have access to the technology to keep us connected and still allow us to worship together! Like our Facebook page and check in throughout the week for encouraging posts, videos, and ways to connect with others while we are keeping our distance physically!

  2. Please let us know if you are sick or need assistance.  I want you to know that you are loved and valued by our West Family.  If you are sick, need food delivered, or need prayer please let us know and we would be honored to serve you.  You can email me at matt@fellowshipwest.com or submit your prayer request at www.fellowshipwest.com/prayer
  3. Don’t forget to give online this week.  Not meeting does not mitigate the financial needs we have.  Our desire is to press on and use this unique climate to love people well, meet practical needs, and point them to Jesus. www.fellowshipwest.com/give
  4. Pray.  We all ought to be praying for not only ourselves and families, but the others in our community, nation, and world that are suffering.  Many people are fearful and anxious, others sick, and many have died.  Let us be a people of prayer in this moment.

West Family, know that I love you and will miss worshiping with you.  We are not yet sure how long we will be apart but know that we will be praying for you.

Remember to remain on mission!

Church, remember God is in control of all things. He has all power and authority, and nothing is happening now that is out of His reach. In sickness, poverty, and war, the believer has hope in Christ that stands beyond anything this world can throw our way. As our friends and neighbors begin to worry and panic, take the opportunity to reach out in support, aid, and encouragement in the name of Jesus. Show those around you the reason for your peace in troubling times! Stay on mission to Share Jesus, Disciple Believers, and Love People.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
