Since 2005, Ben Spencer has had the opportunity to lead worship for numerous youth and college events, D-Now’s, revivals, and retreats in many areas of Louisiana as well as Texas. He organized and led college worship services for the McNeese State University Baptist Collegiate Ministry for over 3 years. Then he spent 5 years at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he worked as an Associate Worship Pastor. That is where he and Pastor Matt met and formed a long lasting bond of friendship and service to the Lord.
In May of 2015, Ben came to serve at Fellowship West as the Worship Pastor. He moved here from Louisiana with his lovely wife Halley, who’s love and support are a constant empowerment to his ministry. In 2017, the Lord blessed Ben and Halley with a beautiful boy they named Graham. Four years later came a little girl, Isla June. Ben is extremely passionate about connecting God’s people with Him in worship. He sees it as his responsibility every week to point people to the wonder of God and to help them see the beauty of His love. He also has a heart for writing songs for God’s church, for creating new anthems of hope and joy and God’s faithfulness. He believes each soul has a song to sing, each heart a unique praise. And his desire is to provide a way to sing it.
Another large part if his responsibility is the media/technology side of Fellowship West ministries. Ben enjoys finding new ways to engage the church to seek community and to bring the gospel to people currently outside our walls. Ben understands God is a community in Himself. Therefore, He has designed us to flourish in that same respect. We were made to share life together, to bear each other’s burdens and celebrate each other’s joys. Ben also knows the eternal effect that believers can have in their own towns and neighborhoods. He stands on the vision of being a presence in the communities around us, and to love the people until we have a right to share the Gospel with them.
