GriefShare FAQs
What is GriefShare?
GriefShare support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable GriefShare resources to help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. Each cycle consists of 13-week sessions. During each session, there is a video presentation by multiple grief experts and former GriefShare participates followed by group discussion. During the week you will have the opportunity to further your personal study of the grieving process with a workbook and through journaling.
Who is GriefShare for?
GriefShare is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief (i.e. a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move). This grief is real and important, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions.
Do you have to be a member to join?
Registration is open to the public. We encourage people to invite any family or friends who have experienced loss and could benefit from GriefShare.
Can you begin attending after the start date?
Sessions are designed to be “self-contained” so you may join the group at any time within the current cycle. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin!
Can you go through the program more than once?
Absolutely! We encourage anyone who has previously gone through GriefShare to go through the 13-week session again if they would like continued support and encouragement.
