What is Phase Ministry?
Our Phase Ministry is the intentional family ministry for kids birth through 12th grade. This encompasses both Children’s and Student Ministries. Our Phase Ministry will include resources, events, and partnering with parents. The goal is for there to be intentionality in all phases of a child’s life, both at home and at church during their time at Fellowship West.
The concept of our Phase Ministry focuses on three basic truths for each of the age groups children go through as they grow up. It is our goal to ensure that kids and students reach these benchmarks by the time they move to the next phase. The goals for each age group are:
Pre-School:
- God Made Me
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever
- God Loves Me
Elementary School:
- I can trust God no matter what
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated
- I need to make the wise choice
Middle School:
- I will love God becasue He will never stop loving me
- I will live out God’s story so others can know who Jesus is
- I will follow Jesus becasue He knows me better than I know myself
High School:
- I’m created to pursue a relationship with my creator
- I exist to demonstrate God’s love to those around me
- I trust what Jesus did to transform who I need to become
How Phase Ministry Works
With this timeline in mind, we have carefully developed programming for each phase of development, keeping in mind their physical, emotional, and spiritual maturity and growth trends. This has helped to influence both our Sunday morning and Wednesday night programming for kids and students.
Sunday Mornings | Both Campuses | All Services
Elementary Sunday Mornings Consist of One hour of Family Groups and One hour of Worship. In the K-2nd Family Group kids will learn through Object Lessons, Bible Stories and hands on activities. 3-5th Grade will have their own Family Group lessons. Walking verse by verse through various bible stories. Family groups are followed by K2 Worship (K-2nd Grade) and WK Worship (3rd -5thGrade). These worship hours consist of Music, Games, Bible Study and more!
Base Camp | Wednesdays | 6:30-8:00pm | Bonner Springs Campus
Basecamp is our Wednesday Night program for preschoolers 4 and 5 years of age. This will include a Fun Monthly theme and Worship through Lessons, Music, Memory Verses and Play!

Phase Timelines
We have a variety of timelines that help walk a parent through important aspects of each phase of a child’s life. You can view all of these timelines at the link below.
Phase Resources
On the phase wall in the foyer of each campus you will be able to find resources for kids every year from birth through 12th grade. These resources are designed to help parents guide and disciple their children with tips, advice, and questions to ask keeping their physical, emotional, and spiritual growth in mind. There are more resources that can be purchased if you would like them at the link below. If there is ever a resource on the wall that we are running out of, please be sure to let Pastor Tyler or Pastor Ryan know!
